ASG Travelling Fellowship

(Austrian-Swiss-German)

The American Orthopaedic Association founded the Austrian-Swiss-German Travelling Fellowship tour in 1981. The ASG Fellowship, as it is known, represents exchange between the AOA and the Austrian, Swiss and German orthopaedic associations.

General Information

Selected by the European ASG Fellowship Committee, two German Fellows, one Swiss Fellow and one Austrian Fellow tour North America over a four-week period during the odd-numbered years.

During even-numbered years, the Canadian Orthopaedic Association selects one Canadian Fellow to join two American Fellows selected by the American Orthopaedic Association and one fellow selected by the British Orthopaedic Association for the European tour.  The tour begins in the spring of every even year (i.e. 2018, 2020, 2022).

This tour is open to COA members who are no older than 49 years of age by December 31 of the year of application.

Call for Applications is OPEN until November 1

The call for Canadian applicants for the 2018 ASG tour is now OPEN. Tour applicants must be able to take the European tour in the spring of 2018, exact dates to be determined. Applications are being accepted until November 1, 2017, from which one Canadian candidate will be selected. Click on the link below for guidelines and application instructions.

The deadline for applications from Canadian candidates is NOVEMBER 1 of every ODD year (i.e. 2017, 2019, 2021)
