The Canadian Orthopaedic Association’s Response to Recent Violence

The murder of George Floyd and the subsequent protests across North America have brought into focus the life and death consequences of anti-Black racism.  The Canadian Orthopaedic Association stands in solidarity with communities who are fighting against racial injustice, systemic discrimination and violence in all its forms.

Recent events across North America have significantly impacted us all, particularly those who are members of Black, Indigenous and Brown communities. We stand in solidarity with you against racism, systemic oppression, violence, and intolerance.

Our mission is to serve all with skill and fidelity, and that extends beyond the operating room. Racial violence must end. We will help any injured, and we will use our voice in support of the health and safety of every person.
