COA | CORS | CORA Annual Meeting

2027 Annual Meeting

June 2-5, 2027
Calgary, Alberta

Meeting Location: Calgary TELUS Convention Centre

The COA | CORS | CORA Annual Meeting is the Association’s premiere event offering educational and networking opportunities in one of Canada’s finest cities.

Both the Canadian Orthopaedic Research Society (CORS) and the Canadian Orthopaedic Residents’ Association (CORA) hold their respective Annual Meetings each year in conjunction with the COA event. Triple your opportunities to share best practices and learn from experts and thought leaders in all areas of orthopaedics.

We’re delighted to announce Dr. Prism Schneider as Program Chair for the 2027 COA Annual Meeting in Calgary. A nationally recognized leader in orthopaedic trauma and a champion of collaborative, high‑impact research, Dr. Schneider’s leadership will guide the development of the program as planning gets underway in the months ahead.

We also extend congratulations to Drs. Mallika Makkar and Ujash Sheth on their appointments as Program Chairs for the CORA (residents) and CORS (research) tracks and meetings respectively. Together, this group will shape a dynamic, integrated program at next year’s Annual Meeting.

Mark your calendars now for June 2-5, 2027 and make your plans to join us at the Calgary TELUS Convention Centre.  Call for abstracts and topics opens this fall!

Return of Physical Posters

Scientific posters, grouped by subspecialty, were displayed on boards in the Exhibit Hall.

The top poster from each subspecialty were announced during our special award ceremony, held during Friday afternoon’s break, at 16:00.

Meeting Kick-Off & Bull Session

We replaced our traditional Opening Ceremonies with a lively new Kick‑Off format that captured the spirit of Newfoundland. Participants enjoyed refreshments, and our first‑ever COA Bull Session — a fast‑paced, interactive, challenging case discussion. Tons of energy, camaraderie, and great conversation to launch the meeting.

The Meeting Kick-Off was held at 15:30 on Wednesday, June 10, followed by the Bull Session from 16:30-18:00.

New Rapid-Fire Presentation Format

Each subspecialty held a rapid‑fire session consisting of 3‑minute, 3‑slide research presentations delivered in a central open‑theatre setting — quick, focused, and designed to spark meaningful discussion.
