Submission Details

Call for Abstracts

Submit research for consideration as a: 

  • Podium Presentation: Abstracts selected by the Annual Meeting Program Committee will be presented during scientific sessions.
  • Rapid Fire Presentation: Selected abstracts will be presented in a fast-paced 3 min/3 slide format in an open presentation theatre.
  • Poster Presentation: Accepted posters will be displayed onsite in a physical format.

Abstracts will undergo blind review based on scientific merit, relevance, study methodology, novelty, and completeness.

Important: Abstracts not accepted for podium presentation may be offered a poster or Rapid Fire presentation.

Acceptance Notifications will be sent in the New Year.

All presenters are expected to register and attend the Annual Meeting in person.

 

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Eligibility:

  • Orthopaedic surgeons
  • Residents
  • Medical students
  • Allied health professionals

Submission Process:

  • Log in to your account. If you do not have an account, please create one.
  • Complete the presenter Conflict of Interest (COI) Disclosure Form.
  • Begin your submission.
  • Add:
    • Presenter information
    • All co-authors’ names
    • All co-authors’ email addresses
  • Review and proofread before submitting or save your draft and complete your submission before the due date.

Note: The submission button will only appear after the presenter COI form has been completed.

Formatting Requirements:

  • Maximum 500 words
  • Include:
    • Purpose
    • Methods
    • Results
    • Conclusion
    • References
    • Maximum of 2 figures (optional)

Do not include: Author or institution names, academic centres, hospital names, cities, or any identifying information

Style Guide

Numbers:

  • One to nine: write in words
  • 10 and above: use numerals
  • Use % (e.g., 20%)
  • Numbers at the beginning of a sentence should be written out

Capitalization:

  • Use capitals for proper names and titles
  • Do not use ALL CAPS

Resident Submissions (CORA)

All resident submissions should be entered through either:

  • COA Program Track (Clinical studies and research)
  • CORS Program Track (Basic science studies and research)

CORA All Stars Resident Highlights Paper Session:

  • To be considered for the CORA All Stars Paper Session, residents must select the resident presenter checkbox during the submission process.
  • Limited presentation spots available
  • Papers for this session will be selected by the CORA Chair
Call for Symposia Proposals

Have an idea for an educational session at the Annual Meeting? The Annual Meeting Program Committee welcomes symposium proposals on innovative and emerging topics in orthopaedics.

Symposium Format:

  • Panel-based discussion
  • Cutting-edge topics
  • Duration: 60-90 minutes

Proposal Requirements – Include:

  • Session title
  • 1-2 moderators
  • Topic outline (maximum 250 words)
  • Proposed speakers/panelists
  • Learning objectives

Note: Royal College accreditation standards require that at least 25% of each session be dedicated to audience interaction.
