Accreditation

The COA is an accredited CPD provider of credits in the Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. The Association is certified to accredit courses and conferences developed by physician organizations (e.g. faculties of medicine, hospital divisions, medical associations, and others).

The COA Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Accreditation Subcommittee reviews all accreditation applications and provides feedback to the applicant.

Refer to the CE Educator’s Toolkit developed by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education and Society for Academic Continuing Medical Education. It contains evidence-based design and implementation strategies for effective continuing education.

Submit a Course

To submit a course or conference for accreditation:

1) [Required] Complete the application form below and return it along with all supporting documentation to the COA Accreditation Committee at education@canorth.org.
2) [Required] Refer to the COA Learning Objectives Guidelines.
3) [Required] Ensure your application has been submitted at least 6-8 weeks prior to the start of your event.
4) [Encouraged] Refer to the CME Reviewer Checklist for Course Accreditation.
5) [Optional] Refer to additional sample documentation, including conflict of interest/disclosure form, evaluation form, certificate of attendance, sponsorship agreement/prospectus. Contact education@canorth.org for more information.
