Mission Statement

The goal of COAGS is to promote global orthopaedic care, connect Canadian Orthopedic Surgeons interested in global outreach and enhance collaborative global orthopedic efforts.

Background

Many Canadian orthopaedic surgeons use their surgical, educational and research talents to help reduce the burden of musculoskeletal disease in the world, particularly in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMIC), disaster relief zones, and in vulnerable populations with limited access to orthopaedic care. The COA recognizes the importance of bringing Canadian orthopaedic surgeons together to share ideas and promote opportunities for providing global humanitarian care, thus a committee was formed as a means of bringing Canadian orthopaedic surgeons together to share ideas and promote opportunities for providing global humanitarian care.
