Fresh Faces on the Floor: A Look at Some of the New Exhibitors Joining Us in St. John’s

This year’s Annual Meeting welcomes an exciting wave of new exhibitors bringing fresh ideas and new technologies to the event.  We are grateful for the many long‑standing exhibitors who return year after year and continue to support the COA’s Mission. In this special sneak peek feature, we’re shining a light on a sampling of some of the first‑time exhibitors joining us in St. John’s.

We asked the new companies same three questions: 1) Who are you hoping to meet? 2) What will you be showcasing? And 3) what motivated you to join us this year? Their answers reveal a dynamic mix of innovation, curiosity, and commitment to advancing orthopaedic care across Canada.

360 Athletics (Booth 36)

www.360athletics.com

360 Athletics arrives ready to connect with orthopaedic surgeons and expand conversations around patient recovery. Their booth features Cryon‑X, an iceless cold and compression therapy system, alongside other recovery tools designed to support postoperative outcomes. Positive feedback about the COA meeting encouraged them to join for the first time, as they continue growing their presence in the medical sector.

AO North America (Booth 2)

www.aona.org

AO North America is especially excited to meet the next generation of surgeons — medical students, residents, fellows, and early career surgeons. Their booth highlights AO’s full suite of educational offerings, including AO Milestones, AO NA LINK, AO Access, and their 2026–27 lineup of ACGME‑accredited courses. Their decision to exhibit was driven by strong engagement from Canadian surgeons who emphasized the value of connecting with the COA community.

CCS, Group of Companies (Booth 33)

CCS joins the meeting to connect with clinicians, leaders, and partners interested in improving clinical spaces and patient‑centred environments. Their booth showcases their full design‑build capabilities — interior design, engineering, construction, millwork, marketing, and IT — all delivered under one coordinated team. As first‑time exhibitors, they see the COA meeting as a natural opportunity to expand their work in orthopaedic facility design and to learn directly from the professionals shaping care across the country.

EMD Serono (Table 7)

www.emdserono.ca

EMD Serono looks forward to connecting with  orthopaedic surgeons, surgical oncologists, and TGCT specialists. Their booth introduces their work in rare diseases, particularly TGCT and Desmoid tumours, and highlights opportunities for collaboration in patient care. Their participation reflects a growing commitment to engaging with the TGCT community in Canada.

Intellijoint Surgical (Booth 1)

www.intellijointsurgical.com

Intellijoint Surgical is excited to connect with hip and knee surgeons, hospital leaders, and health-care partners. Their booth features Intellijoint HIP and Intellijoint KNEE, imageless navigation systems, as well as Intellijoint VIEW, their preoperative planning platform. As a Canadian company, they’re proud to showcase homegrown technology that improves accuracy and workflow efficiency without the complexity of robotics.

J&J MedTech Surgery (Booths 13 & 14)

Ethicon | J&J MedTech Canada

J&J MedTech Surgery returns to the COA Annual Meeting after a short time away, motivated by the meaningful conversations they’ve had with clinicians in past years. Their booth features their portfolio of wound closure and biosurgery products, and they’re hosting a Wound Closure & Healing Innovation Room for clinicians interested in sharing feedback. Their return reflects a renewed commitment to engaging with the Canadian orthopaedic community.

Newbornlander (Table 2)

www.newbornlander.ca

Newbornlander brings colour and creativity to the exhibitor floor with their bestselling scrub caps in vibrant prints — plus new matching summer hats for adults and kids. They’re excited to meet attendees from across the country, gather feedback, and continue growing their socially minded brand. Every purchase supports their Sewing Hope Program, which provides training, mentorship, and employment opportunities for women starting new lives in Canada.

NICE Recovery Systems (Booth 34)

www.getnice.com

NICE Recovery Systems joins the meeting to discuss post‑operative recovery trends, patient mobility, and outpatient pathways with surgeons and clinical leaders. Their booth features the NICE Recovery System, an iceless cold and compression therapy platform designed to improve comfort and efficiency. As they expand into the Canadian market, the COA meeting offers an ideal opportunity to introduce their technology and build new partnerships.

As part of the COA’s inaugural Legacy Keeper Event, medical historian and curator Dr. Erich Weidenhammer joins the meeting to showcase a selection of artifacts from the Robert W. Jackson Arthroscope Collection.  Dr. Weidenhammer is eager to speak with members of the orthopaedic community – especially those who may have worked with or helped develop the technologies represented in the collection.  The display features early arthroscopic tools and other significant items, supported by a corresponding online exhibit.

Timmins and District Hospital Website (Booth 32)

www.tadh.com

Timmins and District Hospital is here to meet students, residents, fellows, and practicing surgeons interested in northern practice opportunities. Their booth brings “a glimpse of Timmins” to St. John’s, highlighting the lifestyle, community, and orthopaedic practice environment the region offers — plus a Yeti cooler giveaway. As first‑time exhibitors, they hope attendees leave with a sense of the meaningful work and collegial environment that define their community.

Vertex Pharmaceuticals (Booth 4)

www.vrtx.com/en-ca

Vertex joins the meeting to connect with orthopaedic surgeons and health-care providers to better understand acute pain management needs. Their booth features educational content on the physiology of pain and an introduction to Vertex’s work in developing innovative pain treatments. As first‑time exhibitors, they hope attendees leave with a clearer understanding of their commitment to advancing new medicines in this space.

We’re grateful to every exhibitor — new, returning, and long‑standing — who bring innovation, new techniques, equipment and expertise to Annual Meeting each year. Be sure to spend time exploring the Exhibit Hall in the Bowering Ballroom at the St. John’s Convention Centre throughout the week to discover new technologies and reconnect with industry partners.
