AAC Post-Graduate Fellowship Application for Certification

The Arthroscopy Association of Canada (AAC) has developed an accreditation process for Canadian fellowships in orthopaedic sport medicine and arthroscopy.  The aim is to help standardize basic arthroscopy and sport medicine competencies across different programs. Additionally, the AAC has advocated for a streamlined application process for fellowships to ensure transparency and equity for residents interested in pursuing further training in Canada. The overall goal is to improve the access, quality, and collaboration across Canadian fellowship programs and within the arthroscopy community.

Accreditation Criteria
  • Minimum 6 months in duration
  • Minimum of 50% of clinical case load in arthroscopic surgery of any joint
  • Dedicated time for educational and/or research activity within fellowship
  • Opportunity for team/event coverage
  • Fellowship application deadline for incoming fellows of December 31st
  • Annual renewal and payment of AAC accreditation fee (300$)

      • Complete AAC Fellowship Accreditation Form

Please send cheque addressed to Canadian Orthopaedic Association, indicating ‘AAC Accreditation’ on the memo line. The fee will only be processed if the fellowship is approved for accreditation.
