Toronto Orthopaedics Comprehensive Hip & Knee Course

This course will now be offered to all fellows across Canada! This course has been designed to advance the knowledge and practice of orthopaedic clinical fellows. It is comprised of both didactic lectures and hands-on cadaveric surgical skills stations. Fellows will participate in interactive, evidence-based didactic sessions covering current state-of-the-art arthroplasty of patients with hip and knee arthritis and related pathology. This includes pre-operative planning, surgical approaches, clinical and economic outcomes and maximizing value of care.
This course is being held adjacent to, and, in coordination with the Canadian Arthroplasty Society annual meeting to encourage attendees, faculty and sponsors to attend both events.
As we are expanding this year, we are pleased to offer accommodation bursaries to our fellows coming in from outside of the greater Toronto area (GTA).

Queen’s Arthroplasty Course for Residents
July 26-28, 2024, Kingston, Ontario
This course is aimed at PGY 2-5 orthopaedic residents to prepare them for the Royal College exam, improve their understanding of arthroplasty principles, and enhance their knowledge and preparedness for clinical practice.

- Day 1: Basic science, biomechanics, clinical assessment, routine and complex primary knee arthroplasty, robotics, and computerized navigation.
- Day 2: Revision knee indications, assessment of bone loss, instability, extensor mechanism disruption, loosening, eriprosthetic fractures, infection and their different reconstructive techniques.

CAS Intro to Arthroplasty Fundamentals for Residents
The Complex Primary Knee and Hip Replacement
Learn the basics of complex primary hip and knee arthroplasty in this virtual 2-part didactic and interactive course for junior residents. Led by experts in lower extremity arthroplasty from across Canada, each 90-minute module covers a wide range of fundamental topics and includes case-based breakout discussions.
Open to all residents in Canadian orthopaedic training programs, but best suited for PGY 1-3 residents. Free registration includes access to both Part I (Knee – January 31) and Part II (Hip – February 21) virtual modules.
