Webinar on Sustainability and Planetary Health / Webinaire sur la Durabilité et la santé planétaire (Accredited French Webinar)

In partnership with Choosing Wisely Canada (choosingwiselycanada.org), the COA  is pleased to offer a French-language webinar titled “Sustainability and Planetary Health”.

20:05-20:40 – Climate crisis, health and carbon-neutral operating rooms (Dr. Stephan Williams)
20:40-20:50 – What can I change in my personal life? Choosing Wisely Canada Statement (Dr. Pierre Guy)
20:50-21:00 – Discussion (Drs. SW + PG)

At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  1. Explain the climate crisis created by greenhouse gas emissions and its impact on health
  2. Identify the three main sources of greenhouse gases in the operating theatre
  3. Apply what they’ve learned to their own hospital to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions in their operating room.

This event is an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and approved by the Canadian Orthopaedic Association. You may claim a maximum of 1 hour (credits are automatically calculated).

22nd Annual Canadian Orthopaedic Resident Forum (CORF)

April 26-28, 2024
Virtual Zoom

CORF will be an intense 3 day program of interactive, non-didactic experiences. Groups will not exceed more than 12 people per group. Each group will have a dedicated session each morning and afternoon in each sub-specialty of orthopaedic surgery. During each session participants will undergo orals and OSCEs based on the Royal College examination process. All sessions will be in English but examination orals will be available in French.

Mandatory COA Membership: All CORF resident attendees are required to be Associate members of the Canadian Orthopaedic Association (COA). It’s free to join! Contact info@canorth.org.
